Internships


Compass High School is looking for University of Arizona students with 60+ hours to assist teachers on a part-time basis. We welcome all majors to apply because we know the value of providing students with access to a large range of educational possibilities.

What we propose


Internships are a key part of Compass because we know that college students are a viable resource to assist in the education of high school students. We also understand the importance of real world experience for a student attending a university. So what we propose is that you come join the CHS staff if you are interested in receiving credit within your chosen major while getting paid, gaining experience and building your resume.

    Special Education Teacher

    English, Speech, Debate and Creative Writing

    Dance Teacher

  1.     Camping, Boating and Outdoor Recreation

  2.     Graphic Design, Video Editing and Photography

  3.     Desktop Publisher

  4.     Art

  5.     Social Studies

  6.     Algebra, Geometry, Basic Math

  5. 5.    Model a personal commitment to contribute to the betterment of our local learning community.

  6. 6.    Model a personal commitment to social justice, inquiry, creativity, innovation, critical thinking and life long learning.

  7. 7.    Challenge our students to challenge themselves and maximize student involvement in all aspects of their education.

  8. 8.    Challenge yourself EVERY DAY to find ways to motivate and inspire our students to get involved in the SDL experience.

  9. 9.    Teach as the moments allow and with the methods that best meet each student's individual needs.

  10. 10.   Always remember that we are here for the students, not the other way around.

Potential candidates will:

 

1.) Be required to obtain, over time, an Arizona Teacher certification.


2.) Recognize a professional commitment to teaching.


3.) Demonstrate respect for adolescents and know how to challenge them appropriately.


4.) Possess a sense of humor and social vision grounded in tolerance and equality.


5.) Move student toward adulthood by modeling positive adult roles.


Note: Arizona does not require teachers in charter schools to be certified.
